Choosing The Right Organic Mattress

By Liliana Token

Most people spend eight hours in bed everyday. With this amount of time spent in the bedroom, it makes sense that your mattress should be of the highest quality. There are so many choices out there but an organic mattress is definitely one to consider.

The organic mattress really lives up to its name and its not just hype. More and more people are realizing its benefits. The main thing with organic mattresses are the organic materials used to make it. It is extremely healthy for the the person sleeping on it.

Some of the natural materials include organic wool, organic cotton and natural lateex. These materials all have varying levels of firmness. Organic mattresses can be of two types: innerspring or rubber. With both types, synthetic and chemical ingredients are avoided.

Organic mattresses are not only eco friendly and great for the environment, they actually help the person sleeping on it. The chemical treatments used in traditional mattresses will give off harmful fumes, believe it or not. These fumes cause long term problems for people.

Another selling point of organic mattresses is that they are long lasting. Up to twenty to twenty-five years of normal wear and tear. They are so comfortable that they can help reduce back pain and regulate the heart rate.

One brand to consider is the Perfect balance organic Mattress. It offers protection from dust mites and other allergens thus being very beneficial to anyone with asthma and breathing troubles. Get an oganic mattress for someone who has allergies to keep them from being aggravated.

There are a number of things to look for when shopping for an organic mattress. One critical thing is to look at your body size. If you're bulkier, you need to get an extra cushioned organic mattress. You'll also be able to test the mattress in store.

Organic mattresses are such a good investment for the price range they are at now. There really isn't a price that you can put on your own health. You have to try it to believe it.

Do Ab Cruncher Machines Work?

By Tom Leverson

Do the abdominal cruncher machines you often see on TV actually work, is a commonly asked question. Yes and no is the answer to that. Although this may not sound, at first, useful, let me explain further.

These machines exercise the layers of abdominal muscles. With these machines you can work the various parts of the ab muscles. The result is that the abs will become more toned and will get bigger in size. It is very unlikely, however, that you will get a set of lean, rippling abs from using these machines alone. The reason for this is that in order to get ripped abs you need to remove that layer of fat that overlays the abs.

Ab crunchers will not get rid of the fat locally over the abdominal muscles. Doing hundreds or thousands of sit ups will not get rid of this fat layer for the exact same reason. The only way to achieve this is by reducing calorie intake and burning calories, therefore reducing fat all over the body.

Adding aerobic exercises to your exercise plan is the most effective way to burn off those calories. Also, exercises such as those that use the large muscles in the body such as the quads are good at burning calories.

The quadriceps is the big muscles that lies at the top, on the front of the thigh. A good exercise to work the quadriceps is squats. The size of the large muscles means that they burn a lot of calories and generate a lot of heat. They also stimulate the body's growth hormone secretion therefore encouraging muscle growth which is good for building those abdominal muscles.

The most common aerobic exercises are rowing, running and cycling. For burning fat it is best to do these exercises over a long period of time. Indeed, on machines in a lot of gyms you will often find they have fat burning modes which will keep you at an ideal steady pace.

Used on their own these machines won't get you a set of visible rippling abs. You have to do fat busting exercises as well. Great ab development can be had in as soon as twelve weeks if you apply this advice consistently.

5 Weight Loss Tips For George Washington University

By Josef Brandenburg

When you are attending George Washington University, weight loss is something that might be on your mind. Maybe you'd just like to trim off a few of those winter pounds or maybe you feel that it is time for a whole new you! The truth of the matter is that weight loss is difficult and doing it when you have a plate full of academics and activities can be difficult. If you want to keep off the infamous Freshman Fifteen or you want to start losing, there are a few ways that you can get started.

1. Make time to exercise: Take a moment to think about how much you exercise. Even if you walk all over campus, chances are pretty good that you don't get nearly as much exercise as you need. Consider heading to the gym on campus or taking a physical fitness class. This is the ideal opportunity when you are a student at George Washington University. Weight loss is much easier when you are working to get your metabolism up and when you are actually enjoying the exercise.

2. Get enough sleep: Lack of sleep can throw your eating schedules out of whack. This mostly happens because you often stay up all night studying or because you decide to stay out with your friends too late, but it is very important that you get a sufficient amount of sleep. Although it is not always easy, sticking to your sleeping and eating schedules will help your body stay ahead of the game.

3. Eat healthy: You need to take some time to consider your food choices on your way to the cafeteria at George Washington University. Are you going to take the high road and go for the salad bar or are you heading for the junk food and deserts? Living on your own at dorms leads you to make important decisions about your eating habits for yourself. It is up to you to make the right choices that will not lead you to put on weight and that are good for your body.

4. Watch your stress levels: University life is certainly stressful, and a lot of unwelcome health problems can come from it, weight gain issues being one of them. You should try taking walks, reading or even talking to family and friends, in order to keep your stress levels down so that your body can stay in control.

5. Train in different ways: Any exercise will eventually lose its full force if done repetitively. Think about the different exercise options to include when you are putting together your routine. Keep things interesting and get the most out of your exercise routine by finding different exercises that work well together.

5 Brain Boosting Foods That Will Take Your Arm Toning Motivation To The Next Level

By Katherine Crawford M.S.

How is increasing your mood related to arm toning? Well, I have some surprising news, most women fail to get toned arms because they are unable to maintain motivation for prolonged periods of time. Most of us can start strong, but very few of us can finish strong.

One of the main issues, however, is that we live in a society that is so focused on the next best thing. In this case, the next best pill that will solve all your arm toning problems. The key, however, is to focus on the mind.

Figuring out how to optimize the mind with standard psychology can be tough. And let's face it, life will throw curve balls at us that are simply unpredictable. As a result, I am going to reveal 5 motivation-boosting nootropics (nootropic means mind enhancing) that will provide an instant increase in motivation:

1. Lung ching green tea. Also known as dragon well green tea, this stuff is amazing. And it's far superior to bagged green tea. You will get an immediate and strong surge in mental focus after having a hefty portion of loose leaf.

2. Unprocessed cocoa powder. You know that feel good feeling you get when eating chocolate? When multiply that by 20 and that's what natural cocoa will do for you. The trick here is to make sure it's organic and non-alkalized. Don't be fooled into buying all the sugar and fat-laden varieties.

3. True cinnamon. Called Ceylon cinnamon, it comes from Sri Lanka and it's far superior to the cinnamon you get in the grocery store. How do you tell the difference? Regular cinnamon is hollow inside, Ceylon isn't. Combining Ceylon with green tea will give you some massive mood increases.

4. Yerba mate in loose leaf form. You have to start off slow with this one. Why? Because it's extremely powerful. If you take too much at once you might be up all night. Nevertheless, it's worth taking because it can increase your mood for up to 8 hours!

5. H20. Don't roll your eyes just yet. I believe dehydration is a prime suspect for decreases in mood. Why? Because of caffeine. We are a culture that is addicted to caffeine, seriously. And our bodies don't build up a tolerance to caffeine's diuretic effect. Thus, many women are unknowingly suffering from low grade dehydration throughout the day. Lower dehydration equals mental sluggishness.

If more women starting focusing on their minds instead of the next wonder pill, more women would achieve successful arm toning. So make sure you take the above nootropics any time you feel the motivation beginning to flag. Stick with it, and you will get sexy arms. I promise.

Using Fitness Equipment To Get In To Shape

By Charlie Dobig

It is not uncommon for people to not be happy with the way that their body looks like. Although a more important factor should be their health and never something so superficial, they do not normally do anything about their lifestyles before they don't like the way they look in the mirror.

If you are willing to lose fat and have a better looking body it is easy to achieve this by making health choices since they will not only have effects on your health but also on the way you look. Working out as hard as you can will not do the transformation alone but you will also have to change your diet to a more healthy one. For results that will last a long time, nutrition is the key because it is easy to maintain that for the rest of your life.

To get a complete workout that will have an effect in both your muscle mass and body fat it is a good idea to use a machine like the elliptical trainer, which will burn fat and grow you muscle at the same time. Because of the fact that all the muscles in your body are at work you will be using every ounce of extra energy that your body is carrying.

Jogging is one of the most common forms of exercising and so are the treadmills. Using treadmills you can have a decent running workout indoors even if the weather is bad, or if you just don't feel like leaving the house. Just like running outdoors treadmills have a bad effect of causing damage to your joints and eventually causing problems. Don't stop running completely, but instead use the non impact exercise machines every now and then for variety.

I have always liked to go row a boat because it provides me with such a good workout for the back muscles. Rowing machines on the other hand also enable you to use your feet while rowing and that is why they are my favorite. Such a complete workout will leave you exhausted when done at a high intensity, and it will definitely burn your fat in no time.

Going for a ride on a bike is a good way to have some fresh air and do a good workout at the same time. Exercise bikes simulate this by having a fixed bike with an adjustable resistance. Most of the people have already forgotten about the exercise bikes since the advertisers have told them that they are not effective, but either way they are still in the selections of the major commercial gyms. There is one reason for this and that is that exercise bikes do work. They make all of the muscles in your legs work, and because they are the biggest muscles in your body, you will burn a lot of fat doing it.

Exercise equipment nowadays are built so that they are easy to use and available. All of the commercial gyms hold most of the machines that are presented in this article and to get the best results you should use all of them. Remember that if your diet is not in order you will not get the results you want.

Golfing for Beginners: Part 2

By Rhys Jones

What You Should Keep in your Golfing Bag.

There are many golf bags available; some are designed for fashion, some for utility and some that combine both features. There are big bags, bigger bags and bags so big that they would keep everything I need for a long week-end vacation in one of the side pockets!

As a rule of thumb, you only need a golf bag large enough to hold your clubs, spare balls, your glove, keys, tees, spare pencils, ball markers, a ball retriever, suntan lotion, a plastic mac, and an umbrella.

It is also recommended that you carry in your bag: some tissue paper, sticking plasters and, whether necessary or not, some insect repellant.

A pack of baby-wipes comes in quite handy sometimes, especially if you're feeling hot or you get sprayed with sand in the bunker - it can be just what you need!

I happen to be allergic to the stings of bees, hornets and wasps, so my Epipen is an important addition to my bag. I am also hypoglycemic so I carry Lifesavers, the packs of which have to be replaced several times throughout the year because they have a tendency to melt.

One item that doesn't need to be in your golf bag is your cell phone. If you must carry it, turn off the ringer as a courtesy to other players. If you must use it, be aware of others who might be taking a swing or putting their ball. You have to be considerate!

If you have these items with you in your golf bag, you will be covered for most minor tribulations, like a bee sting, an ant bite, a blister or even a sudden downpour. If you know that you are well prepared, you will be able to relax that little bit more and enjoy your game that much more too.
